10 ways to… Save on bills

Many businesses cut costs by reducing expenditure in key elements of their operation. However, paying attention to ordinary day-to-day running costs can save the pennies and leave more money to invest in your business

1. Turn off equipment.
2. Heat efficiently.
3. Combine gas and electricity suppliers.
4. Take advantage of natural light.
5. Recycle your workplace supplies.
6. Buy second-hand.
7. Use voice over internet protocol (VoIP).
8. Use vehicles fuel-efficiently.
9. Don’t overspend on necessities.
10. Plan staff travel.

This something good for just every day, not just the small business owner.

A recent story near where I live had an interview with one of the teachers at the local school who had saved the school several thousand pounds over the last 3 years by doing many of the things there on your list. It's amazing how much can be saved just by turning off the computers and switching off the lights
